The Ledger: Back in Action

Great news, non-existent readers! I got a new Tivo, so this project will be back on track in the next day or so. Unfortunately, I've already written about all the episodes that are on tonight, so we'll see what tomorrow brings. It is such a relief to have Tivo again. I bought the new unit just so I could put the hard drives from my old, defunct unit into it. I was hoping this would allow me to see all the shows I had recorded on the old one, but that didn't work. So I lost 28 episodes of Law & Order that I hadn't written about yet. Oh well -- a delay, but not a defeat. Update: Let's celebrate...

Technical Delays

The tool that is most essential to the completion of this project -- my Tivo -- died yesterday morning. I have 28 episodes on there that I hadn't written about yet, so this is going to cause some problems. I think the hard drives are ok, so I should be able to watch the shows eventually, but I currently don't have a functioning Tivo on which to watch them. I ordered a replacement part which I hope will solve the problem, but if it doesn't, I'm in trouble....

About This Site

Since this site has been getting a little bit of traffic lately (thanks Metafilter and Gothamist), I thought I'd take a second to explain it, just in case it needs explaining.The site is supposed to be a fairly complete source of current information about Law & Order in all its flavors, but right now I'm focused on creating detailed summaries for each of the 320 (and counting) episodes of the original series. I started in late December 2003, and I've got 170 or so done, and hope to be nearly finished around the end of June. As a result of this enterprise, the site has a tendency to be, in my opinion, pretty boring. My summaries are often dispassionate, though...
